Olympus E-500 with Nikon lenses- 1st thoughts.

Just received my Nikon AI mount to Olympus 4/3rd mount adapter from the mail, it came along a batch of sample order's from PRC, I'm looking at distributing "useful" photo gadgets as a "sideline".
I can only sell what I use & believe in so as part of getting started, I'm posting my first thoughts on some of these accessories.
I can't get myself to sell my remaining Nikon film gear for some reason (mainly sentimental ones), I still have my Nikon FE, FM and F50's (yeah even then, I use amateur stuff to make money & yeah they work just as well) and my staple MF lenses (a Sigma 28 2.8, Micro Nikkor 55 2.8 and the Vivitar Ser.1 90-180 macro in addition to my AF28-200 Asp II and Sigma 70-300 4/5.6 DL(non apo)). I figured, adapted with my Olympus E-500 they will be 56mm, 110 macro 180-360macros, & 140-600 manual focus presets (almost).

First thoughts: the adapter itself is well-made (out of brass, then plated), it locks the lens in place, The Tamron 28-200 (56-400 FOV) somehow won't mount properly, so lessening the risk of damaging the lens, I took it out of the picture. The 28, 55 & the 70-300 mounted smoothly, and after getting used to idea of focusing manually (easy w/ the 28 & 55 being MF's they have dampening but not so hard with the 70-300 (an AF). The tougher part is remembering to stop down (to fstop of choice) after focusing (not exactly for NFL coverage). So in addition to my 14-45 & 40-150 kit lenses (28-300 combined), I now have a normal (56 FOV) that's a decently fast 2.8 and close focusing, and a 110 2.8 that's a real macro and as important, a 140-600 4/5.6, giving me a range of 28-600. That covers just about 90-95% of my photographic requirements. My Ser.1 90-180 is fungus infested so I'll test that (for studio work) after having it cleaned (in Manila, Philippines where it cost so much less to do).
I'll post my actual evaluation as they happen- screen shots using the 55 and the 70-300 look promising, i'll compare side by side with the kit lenses and see.

Getting started

Hello everyone,
My very first blog and I don't know where to start. I'm in the middle of a (low) paying job and just hit a wall and was googling around when I found this spot. I've always "daydreamed" of being a writer but never got around it. My 17 YO son Joseph, is a more accomplished writer and I have tons to learn from him.
But decades of reading has probably accomplished that somehow, I know that whenever I'm bored I'd "write" articles in my mind, thoughts on just about anything (from how I want to clean my toys to adapting amateur photo equipment for use in my chosen field of work (commercial art).
Now, having this venue, hopefully my thoughts will not go to waste, ideas can now be etched in html and shared, one idea passed on and made a use of of is better that a thousand etched in my brain and eventually forgotten.
To those who will be reading and sharing...welcome.
